Whether your investment is a traditional adobe home or a mountain vacation residence, the particular qualities associated with these different building techniques require certain attention.

In Taos, adobe style homes have their vulnerabilities in flat roof and parapet construction, exterior masonry or acrylic stucco, and radiant heating systems installed with outdated Entran II or KITEC/IPEX components. Additionally, many nuances may lay in passive solar design and alternative building materials. 

In Angel Fire, homesites for construction are often located hillside or on slope where factors of adequate lot drainage, moisture intrusion into the crawlspace and forms of typical settling are areas of concern. Additionally, exterior deck and balcony components should be inspected for proper fasteners at joist and ledger attachments and contact with surrounding soils.
